Modified method of sugar Distribution
- According to the Central Government’s guidelines dated June 1, 2017, only 25,05,300 ration card holders of Antyodaya Anna Yojna are allotted sugar at the rate of 1 kg per family. The regular monthly quota of sugar for the state has been fixed at 25,053 quintals.

As per Dr. Rangrajan Committee’s recommendations, and removal of control on sugar by the order dated 17th may, 2013 sugar is purchased from open market and distributed to the beneficiaries The Central Government provides subsidy of Rs. 1850/- per quintal for the sugar being purchased from open market by the State Government and miscellaneous expenses.
- According to State Government, Government Resolution No.Sugar-1117/C.R.65/C.S.19, on 15th September, 2017 decided to distribute sugar to Antyodaya Anna Yojana beneficiaries per family 1 kg at the rate of Rs 20/- per kg. from the month of June, 2017.
- Under Public Distribution System Ncdex Spot Exchange Ltd. (now known as NCDEX E-Markets Ltd.) procures sugar online once in three months through department wise e-auction and regularly distributes it district wise and taluk wise.
