- To ensure effective implementation of the National Food Security Act through coordination with the Indian Food Corporation and regional offices.
- To procure and stockpile paddy and rice under the Minimum Support Price scheme through the Marketing Federation (in the Tribal Development Department) and the Tribal Development Corporation (in the Tribal Department).
- To establish village-level meal centers as per the state’s requirements.
- To establish a strong network for grievance redressal at the state and district levels for the protection and enhancement of consumer interests.
- To strengthen the capacity and effectiveness of district forums for timely disposal of cases and protection of consumer interests by addressing issues promptly and adopting consumer-friendly methods.
- To educate consumers about their choices, enable them to make informed decisions, and protect them from fraudulent advertisements or methods, including filing complaints or seeking protection through consumer forums.
- To enforce control over the production, distribution, trade, and commerce of essential commodities.
